David Cameron appears to be going to considerable lengths to delay/hide his business dealings since leaving office in 2016
Here's what we know/don't know so far:
Last Friday, I posted on Twitter/X a thread about the lack of transparency surrounding Lord Cameron’s business interests. The thread was popular and viewed 500,000 times at the time of writing this post.
So I’ve decided to share it here - all in one post.
Here goes…
David Cameron appears to be going to considerable lengths to delay/hide his business dealings since leaving office in 2016 Here's what we know/don't know so far:
1 - He still hasn't published his register of interests. Parliament website states: "Awaiting information":
2 - The Foreign Office (FCDO) has not declared any of his work outside of politic'’ covering the period from 2016 to 2013.
Instead the FCDO have decided to reference his work at Carlton Communications which was pre 2010:
3 - David Cameron's company 'The Office of David Cameron' hasn't published it's accounts since 2019:
4 - The Office of David Cameron website address which appears on it's LinkedIn profile now appears to direct you to Cameron's personal twitter/X profile instead of the companies homepage:
5 - But, the wayback machine has captured historic versions of the website. Including some potentially useful/embarrassing news posts that provide an insight to some of his post-PM activity:
6 - Posts about Cameron's visit to China for example:
7 - Or his dealings with Greensill and Illumina which were both controversial:
How much longer can Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton hold out before he must publish his current/past interests?
We have submitted a number of Freedom of Information requests to the FCDO to try and obtain a copy of Lord Cameron’s register of interests and will publish the response in due course.
